Satwinder Sandhu was co-opted as a Councillor to the West Ward in September 2024 having lived in Ely since early 2023. He is a qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in children & families social care, and is currently the CEO of a charity supporting adoption agencies across the UK. He sits on a number of boards and advisory groups connected to his work. Satwinder lives in Ely with his husband Grant and their dog Lexie. He is passionate about communities and is experienced in helping organisations to design and deliver strategies that create sustainable impact. He loves Ely and wants it to be a thriving city for residents, businesses and visitors, which is part of his motivation to stand as a Councillor.
