The City of Ely Council’s floral displays are now in place. The colours chosen for the hanging baskets and planters this year have been chosen to commemorate the hundred years to the end of World War 1.  As usual, the Ely in Bloom competition for our cities green-fingered shop proprietors, publicans and hoteliers will be judged in July.  There will also be categories for our volunteers flowerbeds, community sheltered housing gardens and religious building garden areas.  The Mayor will judge the winners of each category and a presentation will be held in August.  If anyone would like to volunteer to be a judge, please contact us on 01353 661016 or contact our Deputy Mayor, Cllr Alison Arnold.
